Overview

In April 2014, City Property Services were invited to tender for the cleaning services of the two Brisbane Racing Club venues, Doomben and Eagle Farm Race Courses. After a successful bid CPS has now provided both venues with cleaning and event cleaning services. A successful tender extension was also granted to CPS until the re-tender process is next due.

Solution

As the approved cleaning suppliers for the Brisbane Racing Club our CPS team carry out daily venue cleaning, function room cleaning, event cleaning and additional specified cleaning services as required. The BRC hold weekly Race Day events at either of their venues and our team is responsible for all pre-event, during event and post-event cleaning. These weekly Race Days can have attendees range from 1,000 to 10,000 however carnivals such as the Brisbane Racing Club Winter Carnival can attract up to 35,000 attendees per day.

Challenges

As Doomben and Eagle Farm Race Courses are indoor / outdoor spaces, they can oppose many challenges. As these venues are quite large and set up can take some time, all pre-event cleans are carried out the day prior to the event. There are days when pre-event cleans must be carried out twice due to any bad weather that may happen overnight which can have a diverse effect on any outdoor spaces. The weather can also determine the race day attendees so the CPS staffing of such events must always be flexible.

Outcome

Our team of professional Managers, Cleaners and Event Cleaners work tirelessly to ensure the venues are well kept and maintained.  We carry out regular additional cleaning services such as High Pressure Washing, Carpet Steam Cleaning, Professional Tile & Grout Cleaning, External Building Washes and High Window Cleaning as required. Our weekly Race Day tasks include the provision of event cleaning including all waste removal and management, toilet cleaning and restocking, emergency response cleaning and street rubbish pickups.
